How this works

Where the video lives. Courtside doesn't host or embed any video. Every play opens NBA.com's own clip page for that shot, matched by NBA.com game id and event number. In 2025-26, 219,076 of the 220,411 regular-season field goal attempts that count in the box score (99.4%) have a matched clip. The rest, plus every playoff shot and every 2026-27 shot until NBA.com's file for that season is matched, link to ESPN's play-by-play instead and are counted in the list.

How a playlist plays. Play opens one small NBA.com window (a normal tab on phones). Next points that same window at the next clip, so you don't end up with 30 tabs. We can't tell when a clip ends on another site, so nothing plays by itself: tap Next or press the right arrow key. A playlist holds up to 200 plays; add a filter to narrow a longer one.

Clutch and go-ahead shots. Clutch means the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter or overtime with the score within 5 points before the shot, the NBA's own definition. Go-ahead or tying means a make in the last minute that tied the game or put the shooter's team ahead. The score before each shot comes from ESPN's scoring timeline. We checked it on 16,699 made shots from 200 games: 99.9% line up with a scoring change at the same second, and 99.8% of those move the shooter's score by exactly the shot's value. The rest are plays logged in the same second out of order, where the score before can be off by a point or two.

What it cannot show. Only field goal attempts have clips here. Free throws, turnovers, rebounds, assists, blocks and defense are not in the lists, so a "Watch the run" playlist shows the running team's made shots and leaves out its free throws. New games join the lists the morning after they are played, but with ESPN links: NBA.com clip ids come from NBA.com's shot file, which is published after the season, so 2026-27 clips arrive when we match that file. Until then the featured playlists stay on the latest season with clips.
